Alex’s Story

Prior to working with MEE-FIT  Alex had tried many different dieting/exercise plans, but had become frustrated with her lack of results.

“Before MEE-FIT I started a very strict diet plan I found on Facebook, which was essentially high protein and very little carbs. I did managed to lose 1.5 stone quickly but I also fell off the plan very quickly and put half a stone back on. I also tried to start exercising. I started the couch to 5k but I got 3 weeks into it and my knee started to hurt too much and I gave up. I have tried to lose weight so many times in the past and have never managed to stick to anything”

In the summer of 2017 Alex decided that enough was enough, and decided to join MEE-FIT for a 30 day trial.

“I decided that I needed to lose weight and keep the weight off. I found out about MEE-FIT by researching personal trainers in the local area. I had been a member of ‘normal’ gyms so many times before and would go for the first couple of weeks and then lose interest as I found it so boring. I knew I wanted something different. I didn’t know exactly what it was I was looking for, but I knew it needed to be different from what I’d done before.”

Alex was really pleased to find that MEE-FIT was exactly what she needed. Trying to lose weight, eat healthy and exercise can be a lonely endeavour. Often people don’t achieve their goals as they haven’t got anyone looking out for them, helping them stay on track or praising them when they do well.

But MEE-FIT has provided this support for Alex in her weight loss journey.

“What I enjoy most about MEE-FIT is the sense of community it offers. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging of others. It doesn’t matter how heavy you’re lifting, you will still have other members and of course the coaches cheering you on.”

This sense of belonging has played a big part in the results Alex has achieved since working with us. She’s finally found a way of eating and a way of exercising which she enjoys and can therefore stick to.

“I’m so happy that I’ve found something that I love coming to. If you’d have asked me a year ago if I enjoyed exercise I would have probably just laughed at you. I now leave every session at MEE-FIT thinking about how much I enjoyed it!”

Since starting with us back in July 2017 Alex has lost over 3 stone, which for the first time ever she has been able to maintain without the usual weight regain which happens after dieting. She’s worked with us to create a nutritional plan which she enjoys, still allows her to consume food she loves and not miss out on social occasions, but still leads to results.
